The goal of Partnering for Excellence is to build a cadre of middle school principals in the Richmond Public Schools with powerful and focused leadership behaviors.
EduLead’s Partnering for Excellence Program (PEP) promotes high-performing schools through high-performing school leaders. Through PEP, Richmond Public Schools middle school principals engage with successful corporate executives to explore best practices for highly effective leadership and high achieving results for children in the schools in which they lead.
PEP is one element of the Richmond Public Schools’ Middle School Renaissance, an engaging educational initiative that will contribute to the Richmond Public Schools’ overall well-being by attracting new students, enhancing principals’ leadership skills, encouraging businesses to invest in the schools, and developing a talented and highly skilled future workforce for local industry, thus, contributing to a vibrant city.
A successful corporate and education collaboration, through the principal/executive partnership, will prepare and empower school leaders as they address critical issues in education and in their schools. In addition, the partnerships will foster a solid relationship between the corporate community and Richmond Public Schools based on an understanding of urban education issues. These executive mentor relationships will help build community support and recognition for the work that is occurring in City of Richmond schools.
